I have gotten my vitamin D levels up and have planned far more sleep than typical. However, growing this little baby is wiping me out! I am thankful for the team I have a Ignite and the help I get at home. Our baby is now bigger than a troll doll, closer to a My little pony and the size of a banana. Depending on which site I reference. I swear she feels much bigger when she lays on my nerve and my leg goes numb. Which as I do more prenatal yoga (Thank you Novant for the free classes!) is less often. As far as I can tell, everything is good with the baby and she moves more often. Our next appointment is in a week.
I am blessed I married a chiropractor, seriously ladies, schedule with a PT or Chiropractor. Your body and baby will thank you! There are several ladies I have found due in the month before I am and we chat regularly. I was asked about a belly support belt versus kinesiology taping. My preference is for taping. It can be modified in application to address the specific needs and you can moisturize over the tape. I put some on this morning and didn't realize I was having back pain until it went away. My neck is also far less tight as the tape is stabilizing my abdominals.
I have been reading a bunch and also taking the free Novant Health Maternity classes. There are a lot of little gems that I have gathered that help me feel more prepared for the months ahead. If you know a Mama to be that likes to read this is my reading list. Several of these I will read again simply because of the good info they contain.
Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby and Child Care - Morell and Cowan; Diet recommendations and lots of good info on nutrition.
Expecting Better - Emily Oster; Get the data to make your own choices and know the actual risk with things like sushi, gardening and deli meat while pregnant
Mama Natural - Genevieve Howland; A week by week guid to what your baby and body are going through. Also has a recipe for each week to get the specific nutrients you need for that phase of pregnancy.
Birth Without Fear - January Hershe; This book covers the breadth of normal labor and delivery experiences and discusses the reality that so much is out of our control and being aware of all the options reduces fear.
Cribsheet - Emily Oster; Still reading- covers the early months and immediate post partum data
On Becoming Babywise - Ezzo and Bucknam; Still reading - covers sleep and feeding schedules and I'm not sure what else yet.
