Baby girl is growing and seems to be doing well. She is somewhere size wise between a cassette tape, pear and a pomegranate. We will get to see her and measure her next week. Her heartbeat is definitely strong and she doesn't seem to like too much dairy or red meat. Her hearing is developing as are her taste buds. So varieties of foods will help her have a foodie palate like mom and dad. In the coming weeks she will start building bones on the cartilage framework and hopefully we will feel some clear kicks! Although Steven says I will want the baby to kick until she kicks my bladder or spine :)
I can't differentiate if I am getting reflux, nausea or hunger. The 3 are quite different but in my pregnant body they seem to blend and alternate without me being able to tell too much what I need. So I am trying to keep up with electrolytes, water, and daily red raspberry leaf tea. I have started eating dates. From what I have seen in pregnancy recommendations the tea and dates can help with labor and delivery. They taste good and if they help great. They are healthier than ice cream. Lately I have been too tired to get ice cream but I am confident when we get some warmer days it will be a staple!
With the weird digestive stuff I haven't really had cravings. Dr. Kim (acupuncturist) says that is about to change. As the baby's taste buds and preferences develop I should crave the things the baby wants. Still tired, but I am getting more things done. It is funny to be out of breath just moving around the treatment tables at work. I am hoping to get more prenatal yoga (shout out to Novant for the free classes!) and walking in so I am ready for the physical demands of later pregnancy and labor!
