How I am feeling can be summed up with this question- How do pregnant women manage to work full time jobs? I know that in some instances they don't have an option. Most of my day is spent figuring out what I can and want to eat or pep talking myself to get through the remaining patient caseload. If not for Bryn, I would be able to see 4-6 people per day. With her help we can tag team and treat 10-12 people per day.
I am glad I work for myself. My productivity has gone way down. I am not as strong as I was 2 months ago. A simple L5 manipulation is now wearing me out and sometimes I can't even munster up the leverage. Thankfully hubby is a chiropractor and can step in for me.
Pregnancy symptoms- I do have morning sickness and thankfully it is mostly in the morning. If I manage to drink the coconut oil/butter drink (now adding honey and ginger) and eat 4 eggs I do better through the day. At least 2 nights of the week I am getting insomnia. Fortunately, I can usually read and get back to bed. Although, there was that one night I was up as late as I was in college studying for exams. I can tell my heart rate and body temperature have increased. There are still times when I get cold, but I get the sense that is when the baby is working on growing.
Baby development- despite being only about 4 mm tall, the limbs are starting to grow, and the heart and nervous system are developing. At Thursday's ultrasound I think we should be able to see/hear the heartbeat. The baby's jaws and eyes are developing. I am trying to eat nutrient dense foods and stay on top of the prenatals (I like Baby & Me 2 as well as Nordic Naturals).
Weird cravings - My cravings haven't gotten too weird yet, although I have managed to eat some interesting things. For example, it wasn't weird to me to have scrambled eggs, almond butter and an apple in the same bowl. I didn't mix it all up per se, but I didn't avoid have the nut butter on eggs. Then there was the morning I had to go grocery shopping and thought cottage cheese sounded good. I proceeded to eat the entire 6 serving container. And my current favorite food is Mac N Cheese.
We have a pretty busy Thursday so I will try to post about the ultrasound then, but it may not be until Friday when I get back to update all of you!
