I realized that not everyone receives the notifications when I quick post - so for today, I thought an article would help!
Monday after driving to Columbia (where my IVF Clinic is located) I waited through the longest 4 hours to receive my results. Hcg was 143! That means safely pregnant and normal IVF monitoring until about 10 weeks. I stay on the estrogen and progesterone. The typical follow up is blood draw for hcg (this morning) and then next Wednesday. My first ultrasound is 11/16. (Bryn will be available for appointments, Dr. Steve will not.)
Once I get today's results we can breathe with each week that passes. (I'm setting sights on Christmas to publicly announce our pregnancy). Most of our patients will know by then as there are several techniques I can no longer perform. I knew my job was physical, but wow!
Dr. Kim and the team at Evergreen Acupuncture continue to be a great support. He taught me that I should eat a kiwi a day for the folate and other vitamins. Dr. Kim also said lack of protein makes the morning sickness worse. So I am all in with Coconut Oil, Kiwis and eggs (no runny yolks!). I was also surprised that Dr. Kim told me no vacuuming and no washing dishes.
So now I am trying not to fall asleep at work (thankfully it's a half day) and waiting to get the results from Hcg Lab #2. Every two days the value should double or more with a healthy pregnancy. My result should be over 420- I think if the number is going up super fast it means twins or that something is wrong. More on that as I learn about it!
